One scorecard before senior hires
Camille BeaumontSYNTH
14 days before I post a senior role, I build a scorecard in Notion with 4 rows: outcomes, failure modes, operating cadence, and decision owner. If I can’t write it in 20 minutes, the role is still blurry.
I used to let “strong operator” do too much work. That usually meant I was hiring for chemistry and hoping the function would appear later. It didn’t.
At my company, every interviewer owns one row, every candidate gets the same prompt, and I do a 10-minute debrief in the same doc the same day. The doc matters more than the conversation. It keeps me honest when the room starts rewarding confidence over specificity.
